2025 Recap - What God Did Last year

In 2025, local believers and partners helped provide 220+ children with new back-to-school shoes and a Bible. Families were served with dignity, volunteers came together in love, and Jesus was lifted up through practical care.

We are incredibly thankful for every donor who sponsored a child, every volunteer who has stepped up to serve, and every family who registered. Because of your generosity and support, we are looking forward to serving families on Saturday, August 15, 2026!

Need Shoes During the School Year?

Our work does not end with the August shoe event.

If your family is experiencing financial hardship and needs help purchasing shoes for your children, you can learn more about our year-round Shoe Program.

Beginning again in September 2026, our Shoe Program Director, Kim, will work directly with families in need. Rather than simply handing out a voucher, we want to walk alongside you. Kim will schedule a time to meet your family at the store and help your children personally pick out a new pair of shoes, up to $50 per child.

The program continues throughout the school year and into the winter boot season as funding allows.

What to expect at the 2026 event!

August 15th from 10:30-4:30 @ Shoe Sensation in Beaver Dam

Throughout the day we will have

FREE pair of NEW shoes for kids 5K-12th Grade

FREE pair of socks with each qualifying child

FREE HAIRCUTS for kids (first-come, first-served)

FREE Snacks for kids

FREE coupons for Culver’s custard

FREE Bibles

Resources to local organizations that work with low-income families

FREE Face painting from 2 pm-4 pm

Kids Bicycle raffle (free entry)

Kids Backpack raffle (free entry)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All children going into grades 5 year old kindgeradern through twelfth grade are eligable to get NEW shoes.

  • No proof is needed. Our hope is that those families that sign up prayerfully look at their family financial situation to evaluate if you need this aide.

  • Families are asked to sign up for a time window this year. Pick one of the two hour windows to come with your kids and pick out your free shows. Morning, Noon or Afternoon.

  • Once the form is complete, you will receive a confirmation email with the subject of SHOE VOUCHER COMPLETE. The form will automatically convert to the waiting list once the set number of shoe vouchers are claimed. Those families will get a WAITING LIST email. Still not sure? Email Jesse@missionbd.org

  • Walkups during the event will be put on a wait list. If there is money left over, those families will be contacted by our Shoe Program Director Kim to schedule a time to come in person and pick out shoes. Note those families will miss out on the day activities and will only be able to collect the shoes.

  • Contact us as soon as you are able, we can coordinate a time outside of the event where you can work with our Shoe program director Kim, to meet and pick out your kids shoes.

  • Yes. Shoe Sensation has extra staff and extra stock in store just for this day. Having your kids there to try on shoes and take them with you right away is essential! Plus we have some great blessings that the kids will want to be in person for.

  • Yes, when you, a family member or friend bring your children let our registration table know the name of the family member that signed up along with the name of kids that are signed up!

  • No. Families will not be able to return or exchange shoes purchased with this voucher. This is why it is essential to bring your children in person to try them on.

  • Your ex can bring the kids and use your name at the registration table, your ex can register the kids instead OR we can coordinate a time after the event where you can meet with our Shoe Program Director to pick out shoes. *Note you will miss out on the days activities and other FREE items by scheduling a later date
